This is a technique invented by Flavio Poli in the 50s at the manufacture of Seguso Vetri d'Arte.
You make a large murrhine with rings in two alternating colours. The murrhines are heated again and applied to the object. After cooling, the item is reworked to eliminate all irregularities. This technique is very sophisticated and so they made only few objects.
