Carlo Scarpa invented this technique for Venini & C. in 1940. While the glass object is still on the blower's pipe, balls of coloured glass are pulled across the surface. This process can be repeated (in different colours) several times. The design looks like strokes that remind of brushstrokes. There are only few items in pennellato glass.
