The firm design-and-arts was founded in 2004. Up to now it has six employees.

Because of a successful online trade, the name design-and-arts has been established as a brand. It has increasing worldwide connections to collectors, fans, museums and architects.

Founder was the Diplom-Kaufmann (business graduate) Marcus Müller from Hannover, a collector by heart, who made his hobby to his profession. On honeymoon he and his wife Anne Marie made contact, by coincidence, to a traditional Murano-manufacturer who was in dept. This made it possible to buy 15.000 objects out of 100 years of history and bring them to Isernhagen near Hannover in Germany.

The company has increased since then, which in 2011 resulted in the move to a larger location.
